About Us

We are a Scottish Country Dance Club for the London LGBTQIA+ community & their friends. We welcome everyone willing to dance with anyone, regardless of gender.

Our Story

The London Gay Gordons, or ‘GGs’, was inaugurated on 22nd October 2005 to offer Scottish Country Dancing to the LGBTQIA+ Community and their friends.

We are a co-operative run by a steering group and we encourage our members to organise all kinds of events.

We have given a number of performances at Gay Ceilidhs in the Assembly Rooms Edinburgh, as well as at our own Ceilidhs in London, and at our Dance Weeks.

We’ve given demonstrations in London, Brighton, Truro, Edinburgh, Belfast and in Rome. Many of these are in Pride Parades and events for the LGBTQIA+ community.

We have performed at The Harpenden Highland Gathering, the Walk for Life, and at the Royal Vauxhall Tavern,  on stage at DUCKIE!

We reflect the international nature of Scottish Country Dancing and have members from all over the world, you don’t have to be Scottish to dance Scottish!

We offer a warm welcome to everyone, our only requirement is that if you come to one of our classes or our Annual Dance & Ceilidh, please be happy to dance with everyone. We dance together and are non gender specific.

We aim to be totally inclusive,  to welcome others and have fun through dancing.

We maintain strong links with the Gay Gordons communities in Manchester and in Edinburgh.

In 2012, Gay Gordons London, together with Gay Gordons Edinburgh and Gay Gordons Manchester, were affiliated to the Royal Society of Scottish Country Dancing (RSCDS).
