The Gay Gordons (the GGs) is London's LGBT Scottish country dance club.
From September 2007, members dance twice weekly on Monday and Thursday
evenings
at Unity Church Hall in Islington. Monday evenings are intermediate,
and are for those who already know their steps; Thursday evenings
are for beginners and will typically consist
of
some work on the
basic steps, as well as five or six dances which are explained,
and then
danced.
Scottish country dancing is very sociable, our teacher
John encourages more experienced members to partner newcomers,
and everyone
to change partners for each new dance. The Gay Gordons is a straight-friendly
group.
Mondays (intermediate) 7-9pm, and Thursdays (beginners and
social), step practice 7-7.10pm, dancing 7.10-9.10pm, £6 at Unity
Church Hall, 279 Upper Street, London N1
2TZ. Angel tube or Highbury & Islington tube/rail.
Please wear soft-soled shoes, and bring a bottle of water
(which can be refilled from drinking water taps in the toilets).
